Advantages of The Children's Museum Seattle
From February 10th to May 7th 2007, Bob The Builder™ will be at The Children's Museum Seattle, with Bob The Builder™: Project Build It. For digging, hauling and lifting Bob The Builder™ calls on you for help.
With eight permanent exhibits, there is something for everyone. From Discovery Bay geared toward the under two age group, to Cog City, a cognitive experience of cause and effect. You can climb up a mountain, past a waterfall into a bat cave and slide down a glacier, too, in the Mountain Forest exhibit. Teaching children of all ages about Washington's forests.
The Imagination Studio is a drop-in art studio. It is open every day. Every month they change the media of art, from painting to forming clay. It is a great hands-on art experience.
Located in the Center House at Seattle Center, the food court is just upstairs. So, whether you bring your own lunch or buy something from the many choices, there is somewhere to sit and eat. During nicer weather you can picnic outside on one of Seattle Center's many grassy fields.
The Children's Museum Seattle is open every day, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. The hours of operation are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday and 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is $7.50 for adults and children. Children under the age of one are free. There is a discount with groups of ten or more; the admission goes down to $6.00 per person. The Children's Museum Seattle's only rule is "No adults without children supervision!"
Disadvantages of The Children's Museum Seattle
For larger families this can be a spendier excursion, though the price is comparible to watching a movie at a theatre.
No matter where you park, there is a slight trek to the museum. The parking lot is located in the Center House at Seattle Center at the center of the of the park.
There is a ton of space and corners. Keeping an eye on more than two children can get tricky.
