Looking for an unusual rainy day ‘shop-and-play’ activity for you and your preschooler? You’ll find rain is welcomed at the new “Sensory Garden” in Redmond’s Towne Center Mall. Music, science, nature and water themes are explored in this unique outdoor play area conveniently located by Stone Cold Creamery and Tully’s Coffee, making the “Sensory Garden” a perfect new rainy day activity for you and your preschooler!
What Preschoolers will like about the Sensory Garden
Push, bop, press and bang! Preschoolers will come away with a much better understanding of how rain affects the environment and our food chain by testing out the Frog Guiro, Tubulum, Chimasaurus, rainmaker, water wheel, whale drums, gongs, xylophones, giant bongos, tubular bells, on the two fourteen-foot Rain and Sound towers.
Making noise is what it's all about, so your preschooler can be as loud as they like. The play area is short on running space, however, as this is more of a passive play park. Look for the other park in the mall which is more suitable for active and climbing play.
What Parents will like about the Sensory Garden
‘Shop and Play’ the day away!
The new Sensory Garden is located in a hot outdoor mall for parents and preschoolers- excellent for lunch and a mid-day break. Ice cream, coffee and deli snacks are right next to the play area that is completely fenced and preschooler-safe. Trendy children's shops align the streets by the Sensory Garden.
Redmond Town Center provides umbrellas for wet weather cover, toy automobile stroller rentals for weary preschoolers, and butterfly chairs for resting and eating. Family restrooms are in the works for the Sensory Garden vicinity.
