Third Place Books Storytime with Honey Bear Bakery

Books and Bakery - What a great combo! Give your preschoolers the “gift of listening” to grow their imagination and love for reading. At Third Place Books, preschoolers can hear enticing children’s stories read by children’s book authors. At the same time, enjoy a delicious ooey-gooey pastry and cocoa from the famous Seattle Honey Bear Bakery right in the bookstore Commons.

What Your Preschooler will Enjoy at Third Place Books

Reading is Fun “Reading With Rover” happens every third Thursday at the Lk. Forest Third Place Books. "Rovers" are trained listening dogs that come to with their owners to read to preschoolers in the children's section.

The Children’s Book section is colorful and comfy. It invites preschoolers to come sit in the kid-sized chairs and school desks. The large Commons’ communal setting is also very relaxed and laid back. Pull up a pillow or an arm chair.

Check out the giant chess game. Look for it by the escalators. It's available for everyone to play or just to watch!

Honey Bear Bakery’s goodies are just that- good! Located right in the bookstore, your preschooler will delight in choosing a munchy from the many cakes, fruit muffins, scones, pies, cookies, and other incredible pastries.

Does your preschooler like to perform? If so, the bookstore Commons has a local community stage for impromptu singing and dancing; for parents, too, should you want to join in!

What Parents will Like at Third Place Books

The Commons at Third Place Books (Lk. Forest Park location)
The Commons resembles a large communal college gathering hall with the environment being cheerful and earthy. The employee’s attitude towards preschoolers is extremely friendly and helpful, and they don’t mind children looking through (messing up) their books!

Honey Bear Bakery
The Bakery not only has a yummy selection of homemade pastries ($3 to $5), but also Espresso, hot cocoa, juices and light lunches. The Bakery caters to a lot of children’s food allergies (eggs, wheat, soy, dairy). Be sure to take home a hand crafted cake from this well-established Seattle bakery.
