Seattle coffee worshippers know that many of the best neighborhood coffee houses are not just for “big people” anymore! What would Seattle be without the hip and preschooler-friendly, Firehouse Coffee in Ballard, where parents can sip hot latte’s and munch on gourmet pastries, while watching their preschoolers play in their “Little Chief’s Kids’ Café” room loaded with cool toys and blocks!
What Preschoolers will Like about Firehouse Coffee
A room of their own! The Firehouse Coffee staff not only happily invites preschoolers inside, but also escorts them into the Little Chief’s Kids’ Café, where child-sized munchies, toys, blocks and books all go together. There's even a rocking chair for breastfeeding Moms, too. ‘Play and stay’ seems to be the upbeat theme at Firehouse Coffee for parents and their preschoolers.
What Parents will Like about Firehouse Coffee
Make a play date! A BIG draw for parents is Gymboree right next door- so Moms can drop-off their preschoolers for play dates and then meet up for Vida brand coffee, scones and other delicious pastries. Most everyone at Firehouse Coffee is keen to kids, so noise really isn’t a factor; but if you want a quieter atmosphere, you won’t get it here.
Firehouse Coffee has several overstuffed couches for relaxing in, along with a small pastry and food selection. Grilled cheese, PBJ’s and organic hot chocolate are popular amongst preschooler. Also served on the children’s menu are Capri Sun packs and Italian sodas in preschooler-sized glasses. The eclectic coffee house’s patio has several great Adirondack lounge chairs for those wonderfully warm Seattle days.
Good to Know about Firehouse Coffee
